Worked at Village now Casa for 9 years and love it for the wonderful people we get to come in contact with…both customers and associates. Being able to help someone find the perfect gift, jewelry or apparel is so rewarding. I guess my position is general flunky but I love it! We all love working in the beautiful, historic building that we now call home! I am part time at Casa as I teacher 4 and 5 year olds at St John’s Episcopal school on a full time basis.
Heidi Oracion
Fashion Consultant
I have been married to Mike for over 30 years, we’ve lived throughout the western US in over 7 states, the last 10 years in Texas, and 3 of those in Abilene. We’ve two grown sons and I recently become a grandmother. Fortunately, they all live in Abilene. When I’m not at Casa I can be found caring for my grandson, and spending time with family, which is important to us. We’ve extended family within hours of us and during holidays we become the Oracion hotel with people sleeping everywhere. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, anything outdoors, exercising and reading, occasionally I can be found in a few of the antique stores in Abilene. I’ve been in retail for over 18 years and enjoy meeting new people and helping provide a great shopping experience for our customers with one on one service. It’s a blessing to work in a fun and pleasant environment, and making wonderful friendships.

I am originally from Oklahoma but I got here as quick as a could. LOL. My hobbies are oil painting, watching or reading mysteries, anything outdoors when the weather permits, learning about other cultures and languages and spending time with my two sons, Jared and Grant. I would love to travel to other countries some day. I am the office manager at Casa. I help answer phones so I am the first person at Casa some of our customers talk to. I understand you only get one change to make a good first impression. If I don’t know the answer to your questions I will find someone that can. Everyone at Casa is like family to me and I know a lot of our customers feel the same way.

 Val Kastenbauer
Shipping/Receiving Manager
My primary position at Casa is shipping and receiving manager, followed by gift wrapper and last but not least “cleaning lady.” I’m fortunate enough to have my extended family close so much of my time is spent with my grand and great-grandchildren. Casual fun-filled gatherings with friends and family bring me lots of joy filled blessings. My special interest include gardening, remodeling around the house, repurposing found items and checking off goals from my lengthy “bucket list.” At Casa I strive to indirectly assist our great customers in anyway I can to make their shopping experience satisfying and special.
